The following is a timeline of events, information and selected correspondence between Mill Creek Area residents and various Anne Arundel County public officials concerning the restoration of Mill Creek following the 3 million gallon December 17, 2005 sewage spill.

Nov 19, 2006 Local boat stranded on the way to it's dock in the headwaters.

Nov 11, 2006 Girl Scout Troop 1812 organizes Watershed Cleanup Day for area between Severn River Middle School and Mill Creek.
Nov 3, 2006 DNR announces Magothy River is one of four final Targeted Watershed candidates.
Oct 17,19, 2006 Greater Severna Park Environmental Workshops.
Sept 14, 2006 Mill Creek health advisory lifted.
Sept 1, 2006 Mill Creek closed to direct water contact again due to high bacteria counts. Note that the water samples were taken August 28, four days before the Sept 1 arrival of heavy rainfall from tropical depression Ernesto.

I have attached a few pictures of the beach in Maureen's, and my back yard from Aug 16th. This conclusive proof no SAV grows anywhere in this part of the creek. The pictures show this part of the creek is void of all vegetation except along the banks.

July 20, 2006 5:30 pm meeting in the somewhat smelly wafts of sweltering 90o+ heat in front of the Mill Creek Pumping Station with Delegate David Boschert and MRA's Paul Spadaro to discuss restoration of Mill Creek. Topics included overdevelopment within the critical area, stormwater runoff and erosion, and a comprehensive plan for mitigating impact of failing septic systems and other non-point sources of pollution. Delegate Boschert expressed his commitment towards restoring Mill Creek and the other waterways of the Broadneck Peninsula.

Jul 13, 2006 AA Co Bureau of Engineering Status Report indicating that they have already started coming up with excuses to DO NOTHING towards developing a restoration plan for removing the sewage and sediment still sitting in our backyards in Mill Creek!!! "The regulatory agencies that permit dredging in the waterways will need compelling reasons to allow such action..." and "we have not collected enough information to develop any conclusions." and "The most significant observation is that pollutant and bacteria levels in both creeks correspond very closely to rain events."
Jul 12, 2006 Health advisory lifted for Mill Creek; bacteria levels back to normal range.

DPW answers questions related to elevated bacteria levels in Mill Creek. There were no known leaks or spills from the pumping station during the previous two weeks.
June 7, 2006 Health advisory issued for Mill Creek headwaters due to high bacteria counts.
May 1, 2006 Mill Creek Dredging Project page from the full FY07 AA County Capital Budget Supplement for Waterway Improvements. Funds for Mill Creek restoration following the sewage spill come from other budget lines, not the normal waterway improvement process.
